Turning 50 Was So Much Fun!

So last Thursday, June 12th, I turned 50. I had a birthday luncheon at home, with my Mum, my sisters and a group of female friends who all had played a big part in my life over the last 50 years and who are all still very much present in my life. My beautiful friend Patricia, whom I went to school with, catered the luncheon and this made it even more special- delicious food made by a friend who I had known since 1978.

We sipped on my favourite champagne, laughed and this gorgeous group of women whom I treasure, shared little stories about me. There were lots of tears-sad and happy, as there was a lot of love shared. I spent the day with a huge smile on my face and in my heart. My ‘funny’ and lovely husband, invited a surprise guest- Teuila Blakely(for anyone who knows me well, knows that I am a huge Shortland Street fan!) So it was fun to have the gorgeous Teuila with us. The following day Marty and I headed to Queenstown for three nights, where I rested, reflected and decided turning 50 was a great experience.! Filled with gratitude.
